Our Booking Policy

Our restaurant
1.1
The Araki is an exclusive and authentic sushi restaurant, serving a set tasting menu including cooked and raw seafood and shellfish. We take great pride in the ceremony and traditions involved in the preparation and serving of your meal, and the timing of your meal in particular is very important to us. Please see section 9 below regarding our late arrival policy and our right to cancel the booking in the event that you or any member of your party is late.
1.2
We are unable to cater for vegetarians or people who are unable to consume raw fish or shellfish and you should consider this before making your booking. Our menu is unlikely to be appropriate for children and infants.
1.3
Where possible, and at our discretion, we will try to accommodate allergies and dietary requirements, but these should be brought to our attention and discussed on the telephone at the time you make a booking.
1.4
We will be unable to accommodate allergies and dietary requirements which are only notified to us on the day of the booking, and you should see section 8 below regarding how much notice we need in order to refund you for a cancelled booking.

These terms
2.1
What these terms cover. These are the terms and conditions on which your booking at The Araki restaurant is based.
2.2
Why you should read them. Please read these terms carefully. These terms tell you who we are, how the booking process at The Araki works, how you and we may change or cancel the booking and other important information. If you think that there is a mistake in these terms, please contact us to discuss.
3.
Information about us and how to contact us
3.1
Who we are. We are Araki London Limited a company registered in England and Wales. Our company registration number is 08804314 and our registered office is at Cannon Place, 78 Cannon Street, London, EC4N 6AF.
3.2
How to contact us. Ideally via email [email protected] or via telephone +44(0)20 7287 2481.
3.3
How we may contact you. If we have to contact you we will do so by telephone or email using the contact details you provide us with at the time of your booking.
4.
Private dining & Private hire
4.1
We have a private dining room which can seat up to 6 people. Please see section 10.2 for information about the price of booking our private dining room.
4.2
We can also offer private hire of The Araki for the exclusive use of up to 10 people. Please see section 10.3 for information about the price of booking The Araki for exclusive use.
4.3
Private hire of The Araki for exclusive use is granted at our sole discretion and is available only to regular customers.
5.
Our contract with you
5.1
How we will accept your booking. Our acceptance of your booking will take place when we accept your booking either online on our webpage for 5 persons or less or on the telephone for 6 persons and above, at which point a contract will come into existence between you and us. We will need certain information from you so that we finalise the booking, for example, your name, credit/debit card details and a personal contact number. We will ask you for this information over the telephone at the time of making the booking. If you do not give us this information we will be unable to proceed with the booking.
5.2
If we cannot accept your booking. Our acceptance of your booking will take place when we accept your booking either by paying a deposit online on our webpage for 5 persons or less or on the telephone for 6 persons and above, at which point a contract will come into existence between you and us. We will need certain information from you so that we finalise the booking, for example, your name, credit/debit card details and a personal contact number. If a deposit of £310 person is not paid, your booking is not finalised and we may not be able to accommodate you.
6.
Your rights to make changes
6.1
If you wish to make a change to your booking please contact us at the earliest opportunity. We will let you know if the change is possible. If we cannot make the change or the consequences of making the change are unacceptable to you, you may want to end the contract (see section 8, Amending or cancelling the booking).
7.
Our rights to make changes
7.1
Changes to the booking. We may need to change the booking if we are no longer able to accommodate the booking on the date and/or at the time which you originally booked it for. We will only seek to the change the booking if it is absolutely necessary.
7.2
Events outside our control: If we have to change or cancel the booking due to an event outside our control then we will contact you as soon as possible to let you know and we will take steps to reorganise your booking or refund all amounts paid by you as soon as possible.
8.
Amending or cancelling your booking
8.1
Bookings made for 1-5 people can be cancelled or amended (subject to availability and a £10 seat charge per person) up to 2 working days prior to the reservation date/time.
8.2
Bookings for 6 or more people can be cancelled or amended (subject to availability and a £10 seat charge per person) up to 1 week prior to the reservation date/time.
8.3
Please note that we are closed every Sunday and Monday, and also close for holidays each month (please check the dates of our holidays by contacting us via telephone), and these days will not be considered working days for the purposes of giving us notice of a booking cancellation or amendment.
8.4
To amend or cancel your booking with us, please let us know via email [email protected]
8.5
Where you contact us simply to amend your booking, there will be no refund due to you. Provided that you cancel your booking within the timescales set out above, we will refund you the price you paid for the booking, by the method you used for payment as soon as possible and in any event within 14 days from the date of cancellation. You will however be subject to a seat charge of £10 pounds for each person cancelling.
8.6
When reducing the number of persons in a group booking, within the timescale set out above, the amount value will be deducted from the final bill after you have dined with us, minus a seat charge of £10 pounds for each person reduced.
9.
Our rights to cancel the booking
9.1
We may cancel the booking if you are late. Eating at The Araki is a very special experience, and in order for us to maintain the highest standards for our guests, we have implemented a strict late arrival policy of 30 minutes.
9.2
We may cancel the booking if you or any member of your booking party arrives later than 30 minutes after your booking time (i.e. arriving later than 1830 for an 1800 booking, or arriving later than 2100 for a 2030 booking), and we will consider that you have broken the contract between us.
9.3
You must compensate us if you break the contract. If we end the contract because you are late for your booking we will not refund any money you have paid for the booking.
10.
Price and payment
10.1
Booking price. The price of a booking at The Araki is £310 per person.
10.2
An additional fee of £40 per person will be applied to each guest for the use of our private room.
10.3
The price for booking the private hire of The Araki for exclusive use is a fixed price of £3100, regardless of how many people are in your booking (up to a maximum of 10 people).
10.4
10.4 The pricing in 10.1 to 10.3 does not include beverages, additional orders or corkage. Corkage is charged at £100 for a regular bottle and £200 for magnums or larger bottles.
10.5
When you must pay and how you must pay. We request payment for the cost of each person's food menu (minus the drinks and any extra food ordered) plus private room charge (if applicable) at the time of booking. This is done via the reservation tab on our website, via email payment request or over the telephone (for last minute reservations). This payment can be made using debit or credit card but we only accept VISA, MasterCard or American Express. At this time money will be immediately charged/ debited and will be deducted off the final bill after guests have come and dined with us. The additional charges for drinks, corkage or any additional foods ordered will be payable at the end of the meal. For reservations of 6 guests and above must also go through an initial screening via email or phone call, to ensure all guests are able to follow our policies or ideally confirm that they have dined previously with us before booking.
11.
Our responsibility for loss or damage suffered by you
11.1
We are responsible to you for foreseeable loss and damage caused by us. If we fail to comply with these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking this contract or our failing to use reasonable care and skill, but we are not responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable. Loss or damage is foreseeable if either it is obvious that it will happen or if, at the time the contract was made, both we and you knew it might happen, for example, if you discussed it with us during the sales process.
11.2
We do not exclude or limit in any way our liability to you where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or the negligence of our employees, agents or subcontractors; for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
12.
Other important terms
12.1
Nobody else has any rights under this contract (except someone you pass your guarantee on to). This contract is between you and us. No other person shall have any rights to enforce any of its terms.
12.2
If a court finds part of this contract illegal, the rest will continue in force. Each of the paragraphs of these terms operates separately. If any court or relevant authority decides that any of them are unlawful, the remaining paragraphs will remain in full force and effect.
12.3
Even if we delay in enforcing this contract, we can still enforce it later. If we do not insist immediately that you do anything you are required to do under these terms, or if we delay in taking steps against you in respect of your breaking this contract, that will not mean that you do not have to do those things and it will not prevent us taking steps against you at a later date.
12.4
Which laws apply to this contract and where you may bring legal proceedings. These terms are governed by English law and you can bring legal proceedings in respect of the products in the English courts. If you live in Scotland you can bring legal proceedings in respect of the products in either the Scottish or the English courts. If you live in Northern Ireland you can bring legal proceedings in respect of the products in either the Northern Irish or the English courts.
