Our Booking Policy
Our restaurant
The Araki is an exclusive and authentic sushi restaurant, serving a set tasting menu including cooked and raw seafood and shellfish. We take great pride in the ceremony and traditions involved in the preparation and serving of your meal, and the timing of your meal in particular is very important to us. Please see section 9 below regarding our late arrival policy and our right to cancel the booking in the event that you or any member of your party is late.
We are unable to cater for vegetarians or people who are unable to consume raw fish or shellfish and you should consider this before making your booking. Our menu is unlikely to be appropriate for children and infants.
Where possible, and at our discretion, we will try to accommodate allergies and dietary requirements, but these should be brought to our attention and discussed on the telephone at the time you make a booking.
We will be unable to accommodate allergies and dietary requirements which are only notified to us on the day of the booking, and you should see section 8 below regarding how much notice we need in order to refund you for a cancelled booking.

How we will accept your booking. Our acceptance of your booking will take place when we accept your booking either online on our webpage for 5 persons or less or on the telephone for 6 persons and above, at which point a contract will come into existence between you and us. We will need certain information from you so that we finalise the booking, for example, your name, credit/debit card details and a personal contact number. We will ask you for this information over the telephone at the time of making the booking. If you do not give us this information we will be unable to proceed with the booking.
If we cannot accept your booking. If we are unable to accept your booking, we will inform you of this and will not charge you. This might be because we have no availability at the restaurant on the date you have requested.
Your rights to make changes
If you wish to make a change to your booking please contact us at the earliest opportunity. We will let you know if the change is possible. If we cannot make the change or the consequences of making the change are unacceptable to you, you may want to end the contract (see section 8, Amending or cancelling the booking).

We may cancel the booking if you are late. Eating at The Araki is a very special experience, and in order for us to maintain the highest standards for our guests, we have implemented a strict late arrival policy of 30 minutes.
We may cancel the booking if you or any member of your booking party arrives later than 30 minutes after your booking time (i.e. arriving later than 1830 for an 1800 booking, or arriving later than 2100 for a 2030 booking), and we will consider that you have broken the contract between us.
You must compensate us if you break the contract. If we end the contract because you are late for your booking we will not refund any money you have paid for the booking.

Even if we delay in enforcing this contract, we can still enforce it later. If we do not insist immediately that you do anything you are required to do under these terms, or if we delay in taking steps against you in respect of your breaking this contract, that will not mean that you do not have to do those things and it will not prevent us taking steps against you at a later date.
